Gilbey’s, Mic Cheque bring Bien to Cheque Mates Hangout

Gin brand Gilbey’s has partnered with Mic Cheque, one of Kenya’s most popular podcasts, to host the latest edition of the Cheque Mates Hangout in Nairobi on Friday.
Award-winning singer Bien headlines the event at the A.S.K Dome on Ngong Road. DJ Mura the DJ and Kayropmusic complete the line-up.
The hangout takes the podcast out of the studio and into a live setting. It brings together Mic Cheque’s community of listeners for an afternoon of music and entertainment.
For Gilbey’s, the partnership is part of its ongoing Made for Magic campaign, which is built around the moments people share when they come together.
“At Gilbey’s, we believe that some of the most memorable moments happen when people come together to share experiences,” said Lilian Mbugua, the brand manager at Gilbey’s.
“Our partnership with Mic Cheque for Cheque Mates Hangout gives Gilbey’s an opportunity to bring this spirit to life through music, culture and entertainment,” said Ms Mbugua.
The tie-up is the latest example of a beverage brand using Kenya’s fast-growing podcast scene to reach younger urban consumers. Creators with loyal audiences are increasingly turning their shows into ticketed live events.
The event starts at 4pm. Advance tickets cost Sh2,000 and final-phase tickets Sh3,000.
Tickets are sold exclusively online through the Mic Cheque podcast store on Hustle Sasa.
